Succession at PL

With pleasure and gratitude, we announce that operational leadership of PLSeminars is being transitioned from Sheila, Barbara, and Gordon (SBG) to Darlene, Katsuko, and Almendra (DKA).

Darlene von Behrens, Katsuko Sugiyama, and Almendra Staff-Healey, three of PLSeminars Senior Facilitators, began holding deep-dive conversations in the spring of 2017 to explore what it might mean to take over operational responsibility for PLSeminars. Building strength out of their diverse national and ethnic backgrounds, geographic locations, and sector expertise, they have already developed into an impressively strong and resilient triad ready to shepherd PLSeminars into its future. They formally assumed their new leadership responsibilities on the first of this year.

DKA will work closely with the Facilitator Community of Practice to increase the ways PLSeminars offers support to you, the broader community of PL practitioners. What do you need from us to ensure that your PL practice helps you:

  • stay well centered in the midst of chaotic times?
  • respond to the unprecedented challenges we're facing, as local and global communities?
  • turn into the unknown future with courage, compassion, and effective action?

Let DKA know your thoughts, and welcome them into their new role, at <dka@plseminars.com>.

And what of SBG?

As we are freed from operational leadership, SBG will be turning our attention to publishing what we are calling The Trilogy:

  • a second edition of Making a World of Difference, the core book about PL practice;
  • a Facilitator Guidebook, with step-by-step guidance for facilitating each core ingredient that helps someone develop a vibrant PL practice; and
  • a Practitioner Workbook, for either self-study or for use in conjunction with a foundational PL seminar or coaching relationship.

SBG is inviting the Facilitator Community of Practice to participate in The Trilogy,  contributing to each of the three publications with practical examples and powerful illustrations. We look forward to offering you the next iteration of books to help you develop, deepen, sustain, and reap profound value out of your personal PL practice.

With our best wishes to you for 2018,

Sheila, Barbara, and Gordon
